A message from the director

(01 Sep 2009)

Trying times like these are also an opportunity to reflect on what we value most, both for ourselves and for our families. For the teachers, staff and many of the students here at the school, music is an essential part of our lives. It is both a source of comfort and of strength.

Like all music and arts organisations in this country, we face real challenges in the months – perhaps years – ahead, but we remain dedicated to providing the same outstanding music education, outreach programmes and concerts that we have for the past fifteen years.

Given the current economic climate, we are working to help as many people as possible to remain with – or join – our music community. We have frozen all tuition fees at last year’s levels and will continue to offer discounts to OAPs and third-level students. We have also introduced a ‘Tuition Assistance’ programme based on financial need for deserving students (see Tuition Assistance for more information).

Whatever the coming years may bring, our commitment to high standards and innovative approaches will not change. Music – and music education – is alive and well at the New School. You are welcome to join us!
