Now enrolling for First Term group courses & workshops

(18 Sep 2012)

We are offering a great selection of group courses, workshops and ensembles in our First Term, for students of all ages and levels:

Except for our courses for children, which start on Saturday, 29 September, all of these start during the week of 1 – 6 October. Many of these are filling quickly, so we recommend enrolling as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

Courses for Adult & Teen Beginners

All of our Introducing courses are designed for absolute beginners and assume no previous musical experience. Each term's Introducing courses start from scratch, although there are generally continuation courses available in the next term for students who have completed them.

Theory, Musicianship & Songwriting

The development of a complete musician requires far more than simply learning to play an instrument or sing. For this reason the New School offers a range of Theory, Musicianship & Songwriting lessons and courses, designed to supplement and support the student's practical studies.

Music Technology

The New School's Music Technology programme focuses specifically on applied technology for practising musicians, teachers and students. In addition to our Introducing Music Technology course (see below), private and group lessons in a range of subjects are available, as well as preparation for the Leaving Cert. Music practical exam.

Ensembles

Ensemble playing (and singing) is an essential – though often neglected – part of any musical education. Ensemble and choir members, under the direction of dedicated and experienced teachers/coaches, enjoy the unique pleasures of group music-making. We aim not only to make good music, rehearsed to public performance standard, but to have a lot of fun in doing so! Our ensembles are open to both New School and external music students.
