Waltons New School of Music - Waltons Music for Schools Competition 2013 Finalists Announcement!

Waltons Music for Schools Competition 2013 Finalists Announcement!

(11 Mar 2013)

Now for an announcement that primary and post-primary schools around the country have been waiting for – the Finalists chosen to perform at the National Concert Hall in the second annual Waltons Music for Schools Competition! We not only received a large number of excellent entries, but it was also wonderful to see how different schools – small and large, rural and urban – have worked so imaginatively to develop their music programmes, often with very limited resources.

Our judges from Waltons and RTÉ lyric fm have had a very difficult task choosing the twelve Finalists from the incredibly high standard of entries - and all participating schools should be very proud of their achievements.

Liz Nolan will be joining the twelve Finalist schools for their performances at the National Concert Hall on Monday, 8 April, when three primary and three post-primary schools will win first, second and third prize vouchers for €3000, €1500 and €500 worth of musical instruments and equipment. But in the meantime, we will be posting profiles of the Finalist schools early next week, as well as their entries, on the Waltons, lyric fm and National Concert Hall websites, so do have a look and listen to the wealth of musicality displayed if you can!
