Friday Casual Concerts

The New School’s Friday Casual Concerts are a great opportunity for students of all instruments and genres to play in public, in a relaxed and supportive setting, before friends, family and other students. These brief concerts, which take place monthly on Friday evenings at 7 – 8 pm in the school, allow individual students and ensembles to perform in public, show off their skills and learn how to cope with nerves. They are also highly recommended for students preparing for exams.

Your teacher will recommend the best concert date(s) for you. Students of melody instruments or voice who require a school accompanist at a Casual Concert are asked to contribute €10 to help cover this cost.

Note: If we are unable to offer Friday Casual Concerts in a term due to COVID restrictions, we will hold a ‘virtual’ End-of-Term Student Concert instead. For this concert, students will submit videos of their playing or singing, and these will be added to the New School’s YouTube Channel.

End-of-Year Concerts

Our annual End-of-Year Concert takes place in the National Concert Hall’s John Field Room in June and showcases some of our best students and ensembles, of all ages and in all music genres, as well as scholarship and prize winners of our annual Scholarship Competition. Performers are selected by their teachers and the school administration.
