Let’s Make Music Summer Camps

Join us for our Let’s Make Music Summer Camp, a fun and creative week where kids can explore and create music in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already loves singing or playing, this camp is all about trying new things, learning new skills, building confidence, making friends and enjoying making music together.

Camp 1

(ages 5-7)

Our younger group focuses on making music fun and engaging while building confidence and making friends. Through a mix of musical games, instrument exploration and group activities, children will:

  • Try out instrumental streams such as piano, guitar, ukulele, and percussion
  • Learn and expand basic musical skills such as rhythm, listening and early sight reading
  • Sing together and take part in creative songwriting
  • Build confidence through group work and informal performances
  • Engage in a casual recording session

We also gently introduce skills like overcoming shyness and stage fright, helping children to feel more comfortable expressing themselves. By the end of the week, participants will have a whole new appreciation of music, as well as experience recording it!

Camp 2

(ages 8-10)

For our older group, we take things a step further with a more collaborative and tailored approach. Students will:

  • Work together to write and develop original songs
  • Play and experiment with different instruments (students are welcome to bring their own)
  • Try new skills such as singing while playing or switching instruments
  • Build confidence performing and working as part of a group or ‘band’
  • Explore, learn and take part in recording music

Overall, there is a strong focus on teamwork, creativity and FUN!

By the end of the week, we aim to have each participant engaged not only with playing and performing music, but with producing and recording it as well!

Jade Roche, Teacher

Jade RocheJade has been immersed music since the age of four, studying both piano and voice. She also spent ten years in the Billie Barry Stage School and was awarded a Music Merit Award by her secondary school for her dedication to music. She graduated from BIMM with an honours BA Degree in Modern Commercial Music. Jade has an extensive background in performance and has performed in the then Point Depot, the National Concert Hall, the Gaiety Theatre and Liberty Hall. With her artist project Pastiche, she has performed her original music in the 3Olympia, the Academy, Collins Barracks, the Button Factory and Whelan’s. She has also performed internationally at Primavera Pro in Barcelona and Iceland Airwaves. Jade’s love of writing and performing music is rivalled only by her love of teaching it. And she derives great satisfaction in helping others to succeed in their vocal, piano and pre-instrumental music journeys. Her teaching philosophy is always to learn just as much from her students as they learn from her. Jade also teaches Music for Me pre-instrumental / early years music courses, as well as voice (singing) with the New School.
